These people are carrying the banner because they don't think the treaty has been honoured.
The treaty was signed on the 6th feb 1840. 40 maori chief signed it but later over 500 more signed.
Most of the chefs didn't know how to wright. They used symbols and crosses.
The treaty was signed in Waitangi witch is above Auckland. The treaty was between 2 groups the bitish and the maori.
